When Los Angeles’ most iconic photographer, director, and documentarian meets one of the coolest American-style burger joints in town, it’s bound to get legendary.

Los Angeles native Estevan Oriol has one of the most influential names in the photography scene all over the world. Known for his gritty, raw, and stylistic photographs, Estevan Oriol spotlights various culturally impactful subjects, from portraits of celebrities, musicians, and personalities to the inimitable landscapes of LA culture, including gangsters, lowriders, and tattoo art.

In an effort to bring Estevan Oriol’s world-renowned photographs nearer to the people of S La Brea Avenue, they teamed up with Burgers 99. Burgers 99 is an immigrant- and family-owned and operated neighborhood burger shop founded in 2020. If the name rings a bell, that’s because the tandem behind the shop is also behind the fast-casual Indian spot, Badmaash.

“We recently joined forces to launch a limited collaboration that features a special menu, merchandise, and an installation featuring Estevan’s work.”

JokerBrand, Estevan Oriol’s long-standing streetwear brand, also celebrated its 30th anniversary during the much-awaited event. Its infamous clown icon, along with the Burgers 99 logo and Estevan Oriol’s signature, was emblazoned across all branding materials, from the apparel line and merchandise to the retail and food packaging.

“In packaging, noissue was the perfect fit for us because of their stellar reputation and commitment to sustainability. We loved how everything turned out, from tote bags and stickers to paper bags and food-safe paper—everyone loved the final result! Because of that, we would absolutely partner with them again on future collaborations.”

Packaging played a huge part in the overall collaboration. Our reusable premium totes were part of the merchandise offering. From behind the kitchen, they use our recyclable stickers to label cups, compostable food paper in every serving, and recycled SOS bags for takeout. Then on tables, they use our reusable coaster and menu combo for an elevated dining experience.

The city of angels serves as an endless inspiration. Estevan Oriol's celebration of Los Angeles culture through the arts—photography, music, and films—and Burger 99’s nostalgic take on classic American cuisine are all a testament to the artistic joys of bringing your craft to people and letting them resonate, enjoy, and share.
And this collaboration is a great reminder of that.
